Severin Sea Lodge Bamburi
Beach. Mombasa Kenya.
Severin Sea Lodge is located directly on the shores of the Indian Ocean on Bamburi Beach. A range of rooms available from standard rooms (not very good) in either the main building or in bungalows to more deluxe rooms and suites. A Spa and wellness centre where you can relax with a massage on the beachfront massage parlour.
. This is one of the most expensive hotels in North coast Mombasa. All in all, rooms are basic, service is lousy from top to the bottom, the pool gets closed too early, the food is terrible and the place is full of big fat lizards! It is crowded! This is a two star hotel, and only looks nice from a distance. And we all know the looks deceives! . Our rooms were wrong so we had to go down a class, and late at night there were cockroaches in the bath, that we had to remove. Food expensive at $30 dinner. Believe me the best part of severin sea lodge was leaving the horrible place. . We had a bungalow room. That was good, only the bed was a little bit hard. The bathroom was not new but clean. Airco inside and al what you need for a couple of days. The restaurant has good food and good wines available. . Excellent hotel, great food service and location. The beach is just steps away, as is the warm ocean. The hotel is strict on long trousers for dinner which is fair enough, so you can take a prostitute to dinner but not tailored shorts. . We have been to Severin Sea Lodge several times and we have always enjoyed it. The staff are always ready to help and are all very friendly. Its half board is far to expensive in comparison to other hotels. The flight was with Monach and we will not fly with them again. The aircraft was dated and the crew was not interested in the passangers. . I have to say very nice hotel, with very good standards and very friendly staff. Food is excellent, rooms always clean and nice. . There are much nicer places to stay for less money on the Kenya coast. . Have been to several hotels at our Coast but Severin tops the worst list. The lounge was outdated and not appealing at all.The room was nothing fancy, very basic, dusty, phone wasn't working, cupboard had cobwebs, beddings and towels dint smell or feel fresh. The aircon din't function well. The menu at dinner sucked and was too rigid. Impressed with the hotel layout - lots of Frangipani trees and Palm trees in the gardens. The view out onto the Indian Ocean very beautiful. The rooms were fairly basic and the towels smelt a bit foisty when wet, but that was our only criticism and we reminded ourselves that we were in Africa. The food was gorgeous - lots of fresh vegetables, salads, tropical fruits and tasty meat and fish. Found the vervet monkeys that lived in the hotel grounds very entertaining although the hotel management regard them as a nuisance and discourage feeding them. The beach was beautiful but found the need to be firm with the hawkers. We got married at Severin Sea Lodge and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The standard rooms are ok, but the superior rooms that we stayed in are much nicer esp. if you're going there for a special occasion. The food on site is good and there is quite a good selection. The teppenyaki & Dhow restauranta are excellent, they are not included in the all inclusive but are definitely worth a visit. very friendly relaxed hotel, staff cant do enough for you. kids were 11 and 16 when we went and had no worries about them wandering about the complex on thier own, very safe. Just back from Severin Sea had a fantastic time. The hotel staff are very helpful and welcoming. There are different restaurants to choose from which is good if you have kids/adults with fussy eating habits. The main restaurant which we ate mostly was good had a wide range of choices, even on menu nights. The hotel has quite a few bars to choose from we spent most nights at Swing bar which had a breeze (chiilin out).I would recommend this hotel and we are going back to this hotel and do another safari.
