Diani Beach is located in the south coast of Kenya, along the Indian Ocean. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country and is known for its white sandy beaches, tropical climate and stunning views of the Indian Ocean.
The beach is a popular destination for both tourists and locals alike. It offers a wide range of activities from swimming, snorkeling, windsurfing, and sailing, to simply relaxing in the sun. The beach is also home to many beachfront restaurants and bars, offering delicious seafood dishes and cocktails.
The climate of Diani Beach is tropical and the temperature averages around 25-30 degrees Celsius year round. The beach is protected by a coral reef which makes it an ideal spot for snorkeling and diving. The coral reef also serves as a natural breakwater, protecting the beach from strong winds and high waves.
The beach is also home to a variety of wildlife. Birds, butterflies, and monkeys can be seen in abundance around the beach. Dolphins also come to the beach to be fed by local fisherman, which makes for a great experience for visitors.
The local Maasai people are also an important part of the culture at Diani Beach. They are known for their traditional dances and celebrations which add to the experience of the beach.
Diani Beach is an excellent destination for those looking for a relaxing beach holiday. Its stunning views of the Indian Ocean, tropical climate, and wide range of activities make it the perfect place for a relaxing getaway.
A good clean hotel, Staff could'nt do enough for you they were all very
friendly, rooms were basic but more than adequate, food was ok not much
choice but there was always something to eat.
The hotel was clean and the food had plenty of choice. The rooms were adequate
for anyone's needs, the air-conditioning could have been a bit more efficient.
The staff and service was second to non.
Stayed at diani sea lodge in September,it was the holiday of a lifetime,i
have travelled to many places and this was the best,my friend was in
a wheelchair and staff took her everywhere, nothing was too much trouble
for them.
This was the best holiday I have been on. I would 100% recommend this hotel, the hotel was amazing everything anyone needs. I believe that it should be upgraded from a 3* to a 4*. Staff are out of this world would do anything to help you.
We stayed for two weeks at the start of May and had a really great holiday. We booked this hotel because the all inclusive package was so cheap. We were not expecting four star luxury so were not disappointed. The room was basic but clean. The towels were a bit stinky but were changed every day if requested. Bedding was clean and drinking water was provided each day in a flask.
Diani Sea Lodge the staff are really helpful and friendly nothing too much bother for them. The room was basic, well positioned for the dining room and beach. Fresh water is topped up in your room each day in a thermos flask. Not too sure how hygienic that is, so I didn't trust it, not after the bout of sickness that I had experienced.
There is no fridge in the room which was disappointing especially in that heat, however you could have ordered one for a fee. You have to pay extra for the safe too.
For most of the holiday I ate fish but was disappointed that it was always coated in bread crumbs. On the whole the food was very disappointing.
The is a good hotel - great staff, nice food and amazing location. The food is good a nice mix - a good amount of local food on offer, this always included meat, fish and veg dishes. The staff are also great - very helpful and friendly.
" this hotel failed to deliver a basically clean room, we were moved within an hour of arrival as our room was so dirty. the towels smell awful as they are washed in brackish water (which is what you shower in ) old, run down and shabby hotel. we only ended up here as we booked a last minute safari and this was the second part, wish we had gone home after the safari - which was fabulous.
This hotel is in need of a make over its quite run down. the food was not bad but we found that they served the same fried fish for three days which limited your choice because they only served fish, a meat dish and vegetarian. the breakfast was good nice bacon and the food and the beach bar very good. The staff were good infact they make this hotel. The rooms are adequate but they really need to sort out the aircon.
Dirty and run down bathroom, dirty (green) pool and not at all as represented in photographs of travel website. Food was nice but not much of a selection. Entertainment was not lively, not an enjoyable atmosphere, people wondering around not really knowing what to do.
When i read reveiws before i went, i wanted to change hotel. As i was on my own i was a bit nervous. But i was made to feel relaxed and safe as soon as i got there. Hotel was excellent, very clean, staff could not do enough for you and worked hard.
The food was very good and plenty of choice and hygiene was excellent. They could do with investing in some small teapots for just hot water at meal times.
This
hotel was very disappointing it was in need of some work. The food
was reasonable but the local drinks were disappointing. we went on
a safari and found the accomodation and the food much better than the
hotel. The hotel advertises air con which does not work evenings were
uncomfortable. The beach boys were a nightmare walking from the hotel
down to sea was a not a good experience and i think more could of been
done to stop them hassling everyone at the hotel. overall we had a
excellent holiday because we enjoyed the safari and the dolphin trip.
The staff at the hotel were very friendly which helped alot.
A pleasant, relaxing resort, but smaller than anticipated so little choice with regard to food and facilities. Beautiful beach but with a lot of seaweed - you need to take sea shoes and cope with weed round your legs as you paddle! Also the beach traders descend like bees round a honey pot as soon as you set foot on the beach, making the experience less than pleasant. The garden and sun beds are good - no problems getting beds and good towel service. Management are lovely and are keen to please. Overall a good experience, but I would not rate as 3 star.
Excellent hotel. Food plentiful and with an ever changing menu with super choices. Staff friendly and helpful. location is paradise. Right on the beach. beautiful white sands and clear warm sea. lovely pool warm as a bath. Temperature from 19 Nov to 4 Dec between 95 and 100 degrees. Lovely little cottage accomodation. Monkeys coming to visit on your verandha. We had two bedroom cottage. Big four poster bed with mosquito nets - not that we saw a single mossie. Just as well as power points are the same as at home so our bug plugs could not be used. Only downside was there was no fridge in the room to keep the free water cold.
Great location, right on the beach! Friendly, helpful staff! Rooms very
basic & in 2wks we only got 1 hot shower! Complained twice & they came to fix it but it still never worked! We should have gone back again but the room we were in was supposed to be superior & we
were afraid that if we were moved it would be to an even more basic
room! There was no phone in room so to complain meant trapesing over
to reception and wait for things to be dealt with!
