Scorpio Villas Malindi Kenya Reviews.Directly at the sea, in a convenient position to reach Malindi town center by foot which is only a distance of 1500 meters. 46 rooms set-up in Villa's ranging from 1 or 2 floors. All rooms have a Balcony or a verandah. Popular with many Italians/Europeans returning on holiday with their African wives.. This is a very nice place in Malindi if you want to relax and be close to the beach. From the nightlife it's a bit far though. The rooms a big, with huge bathrooms. In the compound you find various pools and you got straight beach access. Nearby is the famous and very good "Baby Marrow" restaurant. I would say this is a nice choice for a romantic weekend or for families with kids. . The resort is at least a long 2 hour drive from Mombassa airport. However, the hotel and location was absolutely worth it! Scorpio Villas is a beautiful small family run hotel with its own public beach, and about the only one in the area with beach sunloungers and bar. Our room was fabulous- we had a massive 9ft four poster bed, complete with outside day bed and table and chairs. The air conditioning was a godsend. The hotel sits in beautifully maintained tropical gardens. All staff encountered were friendly and efficient. The drinks were very reasonably priced, and the food was brilliant- I have no complaints. . Overall we had a lovely stay at Scorpio Villas. The hotel photos do not do it justice. Immersed in tropical gardens and with three lovely swimming pools, it has alot of charm and is a pleasure to come back to. The food at the hotel is of a good standard, although it can get repetitive when you are there for 2 weeks. The Italian options are delicious; the homemade pasta is the best pasta we have ever had! . Do not pre judge this excellent hotel complex. My Kenyan wife and I have just returned from this AMAZING place, and will thoroughly recommend it to anyone who cares to try this paradise. The food is first class as is the service, the rooms are so clean and kept pristine. Free tea and later, cocktails. and a very relaxing atmosphere. . We had a lovely time at this hotel, very pretty with lots of greenery and colour. Not too big and rooms are lovely. Air conditioned, free bottled water every day. Cleaned every day, even had flowers on our bed after we came back from 3 day Safari, nice touch! . Very nice hotel, staff friendly as always in kenya. Great rooms very clean. . We returned earlier this week from a two week stay at Scorpio Villas and must say I was mightily impressed. The room: big airy room with air-con, fan big bed with mossie net, very clean bathroom (free shampoo and shower gel). Big choice at breakfast of english or continental, fruits, yogurts, cakes etc. Evening dinner was very nice The hotel is very lovely, clean wonderful setting private beach, staff couldn't be more helpful, rooms are good, very large bed, good nights sleep every night. Hi all, when we booked this Holiday I fell in love with the write up on the site I went on. I then looked at the reviews on this page. We went out with a lot of doubt. As soon as we got to Scorpio Villas we were sure we were going to have a good time. The room was lovely we had a flowers left on the bed every day by our cleaner. The 3 pools are kept clear by the pool attendant. The reception staff, were really helpful. The restraunt and Bar staff are great and fun to be with meal times were really good the meals are mainly Itailian menu's but the food was good and beer... it was good of course. The resident monkeys kept us amused on the odd occasion. The people were really friendly and helpful. From the brochure we expected a high level of accomodation and feel sure that Scorpio Villas USED to be like this. Sadly it has been left unloved and is clearly being robbed of any investment. The staff had not been paid for 2 months and those that were left tried their best but the food was appalling, the service almost non-existent (there just weren't enough of them). The rooms are spacious but in need to some basic repair, the toilet seat was cracked and dirty, the ceiling fan virtually hanging off, the air con unit leaked so much on the outside it made the steps nearby an absolute hazard and the bathroom cabinet had certainly seen better days.
