Reviews:
This was part of the notoriously bad (but very cheap) African Safari Club chain and is due to be sold. All their hotels are in bad shape with staff unpaid. Just dont go there!! Even Flamingo their flagship is a wreck now. Food awful, rooms stink. ASC are now bankrupt This was our second stay on Shanzu beach with ASC and we did not think that our stay in the Flamingo could be bettered but we were wrong. The Dolphin does not have the facilities of the Flamingo but the smaller more intimate atmosphere with its friendly helpful staff make this a wonderful place to stay and you can anyway use the facilities in the other hotel. Just returned from the Dolphin Hotel and the Big 5 Safari. The hotel was idyllic, superb surroundings and food; accommodation comfortable and clean, everything you need. No mosquitoes! Safari was superb. The rooms were basic but clean, comfortable and with the most stunning views. The staff are friendly and welcoming and provide a 1st class service. The welcome was excellent, all the staff were singing a welcome song in what I believe was Swahili which was nice. Even though it's in a developing third world country, I thought that the service (always delivered with a smile) was excellcent. Ok; the standard of the food was at best basic and bland but there was always something to tempt you. The room's fixtures and fittings were dated, but the rooms were thoroughly cleaned 6 days a week.Electric was turned off at certain times of the day Reviews of resorts and places in Kenya |
