Samburu Simba Lodge Reviews. Buffalo Springs Game ReserveAlso known as Buffalo Springs Simba Lodge, a new development a bit like a well constructed Californian housing development. Samburu Simba lodge is overlooking the Buffalo springs and the Uaso Nyiro River. Two refreshing swimming pools, a waterhole and a large terrace, you are in a fantastic location for spotting giraffe, zebra and elephant. 70 suite rooms with private balcony, ceiling fans and en suite shower The lodge is only a year or two old and the rooms are beautifully adorned. Very nice bathrooms and a porch overlooking beautiful scenery are real plusses! The open air restaurant is wonderful, as well. We found the staff to be very friendly. Our waitress was a member of the Samburu tribe and was nice enough to give us a 30 minute talk on her tribal culture upon our request. . We liked this new hotel which we stayed at because the floods had washed away several other options including the Samburu Serena. The Simba's staff are really helpful and friendly, the rooms have everything you need and also a good sized balcony to sit and watch the abundant wildlife. The food while not fancy was pretty good, I would stay at the Samburu Simba again. . There is a nice pool, also overlooking the watering hole. The service was a cut above other places too. Many of the staff are experienced with some exceptionally nice people. Even the gift shop had reasonably priced, no-hassle souvenirs. There is a very nice deck with chairs and bar service, and excellent space to hang out in the afternoon, or after dinner. The rooms are like upscale hotel rooms with a double bed, balcony, hot showers. The food at this lodge is served buffet style, and is notch or two above the other buffets. . Upon arrival, we were surprised by the view from the balcony and can see a herd of elephants eating giraffe, a hippo and a crocodile pond. Reviews of resorts and places in Kenya |
