"Great however the health club rules were crazy.
We had a fantastic stay, whatever was great but were an active family and like to work out. The gym rules were very ridiculous and the personnel that was overseeing that the "rules" were followed were extremely unfriendly and rude. There only task was to ensure that you had the right shoes on and looked you down as you cleaned up the machine, really unusual and disrespectful."

Jet2.com scheduled vacation at the Vidamar. Chosen as we wanted spaces for our daughters with doors adjacent to our own. This was provided, but was basically the exact same rate as renting 2 spaces instead of any "household suite" with separate teenager spaces.
Great facilities, external swimming pools are fabulous as is poolside dining establishment.
Main dining establishment serves a terrific buffet and the personnel work hard. Food can be like warm sometimes but abundant and you'll leave from the Vidamar heavier than you got here!
A lot of excellent fish dishes and the breakfasts are good enough to see you through the day to dinner without any requirement for all inclusive lunch. You do get a bottle of water with your meals, but at EUR4 it's a bit of a ripoff when the tap water is perfectly drinkable.
Personnel are astonishingly respectful and handy. Hotel area is about a 10 minutes walk to town and we'll definitely be going back once again."

Fourth visit to Vidamar, after 2 years missed out on due to Covid. Whilst constantly great, we were pleased to see a general uptick in customer experience. Everything seemed more handled & co-ordinated without any dissatisfactions. Evening buffet considerably improved. Staff good-- unique thanks to Susy on eggs & Bruno-- Lisboa Bar. Mum and I remained here for a week in early December for her belated 70th birthday event. We're generally more Air bnb than 5 * hotel, however being an unique birthday, and getting a pretty good deal through Easyjet holidays, mum chose to press the boat out. We 'd read a few combined evaluations so showed up keeping our fingers crossed.
Our space was on the 2nd flooring, minimal sea view (as we were anticipating) but a sea view none the less and a beautiful view of the gardens. The room was an excellent size with 2 double beds and a seating area. I do not believe we felt anything was missing out on, we had a fridge, air con and tea and coffee making facilities. Robes, slippers and beach towels were also supplied. If we were striving to select fault, there were a number of locations the room looked a little tired, and I could have lived without the flooring to ceiling mirrors on virtually every wall in the bathroom, however it was spotlessly tidy, the beds really comfy and it was nice and quiet.
We had breakfast and supper included and consumed in the main Ocean Buffet restaurant. The night meal theme altered daily and there was constantly plenty of option, we consumed very, effectively! Food was nicely presented and topped up frequently. We were well cared for and although our drinks weren't included we felt they were extremely sensible for hotel rates, paid ₤ 20 for 2 small glasses of white wine in a hotel in Edinburgh not long ago, believe a good sized glass of wine in the VidaMar bar had to do with EUR4.
Found every member of staff we came across as friendly and handy. Do request for particular guidelines on how to get to the indoor swimming pool, it's very simple to miss out on!

Our stay was from 5th to 12th December and on arriving were handled very well at reception, we were offered a space on floor 3 which was extremely roomy and had everything we might perhaps need.
We used the buffet dining establishment every night and the food was excellent and well provided likewise the same at breakfast.
We had 3 questions at reception during the week all of which were dealt with immediately by Gilda and the team.
We have remained at several 5 star hotels in Madeira and this is the very best, we will remain once again! Thanks to all the staff."

Just returned home from our 7th remain at the VidaMar Resort, what a wonderful place this is
i can not actually find anything to fault maybe gown code for supper, however besides that everyone from Albertina and her reception personnel, Tatiana, Susan and Simone the very important visitor ambassadors, Mickey and Dorita and the buffet staff and to Orlando and his staff on the sea platform and the cleaning staff (sorry if i have missed anyone) they all do a fantastic job and are so useful and their english is outstanding. The Dine around choice is great as you have a choice of either the Ocean Buffet, Mamma Mia or the Portuguse restaurant Casa da espetadas, the food in all dining establishments is diverse and of an excellent standard. The rooms are huge and virtually all face the sea and spotlessly clean and when the sun shines its on your balcony all day."
