"While living in Jamaica, I decided to visit Frenchman's cover, so I rented one of the villas. They have two rates, one for locals and another for non-Jamaicans (substantially higher). Upon arrival, I realized that the place belonged to the 1960's and everything had stopped there, including cleaning of the property. I would never return there....such a filthy place!"
This hotel and villas are located on the 40 acre Frenchman's Cove estate, comprising of the main hotel with ten spacious bedrooms and a collection of one to three bedroom villas and a private beach. All the air conditioned villas are set in the lush tropical gardens and only a short walk from the main hotel building. The spacious sitting rooms feature floor to ceiling windows for a panoramic view of the sea or tropical gardens.
Standard Room
The main Frenchman’s Cove hotel building offers ten 10 spacious, air-conditioned rooms with private baths and balconies overlooking the gardens. At ground level there is a TV area, lounge, and a large, covered open air dining room complete with a lower level that can be used for seminars or group meetings. The hotel is a two minute stroll to the private beach.

Summary.
As you may note from the guest reviews, there's a mixed response though in general all agree that the buildings are in disrepair and in dire need of refurbishment. Though even the most negative of reviews praise the location, gardens and beach. We also note that since the first reviews in 2004, which then were excellent, there's been a gradual degeneration to more negative recent reviews. So if your not fussy about the building and more interested in superb settings and locations, then Frenchman's is worth considering. Room rates also depend on whether your a local Jamaican or Foreigner, which like the building, is an outdated practice. In a nutshell as one guest said, "GORGEOUS OUTDOORS, SUBSTANDARD INDOORS"
