Essential Guide: Where to go in Sharm el Sheikh. Travel Tips & Inspiration
Renowned as a place where the sun shines and the waters are warm, Sharm el Sheikh is one of our favourite winter sun getaways. If you’ve been wondering where to go in Sharm el Sheikh, we’ve rustled up this guide to some of the best activities on offer.

Desert Dinner.
One of the greatest ways to experience real Bedouin culture is to go out into the desert for a romantic meal. Located in the middle of the Sinai Desert, you can dine on a traditional Egyptian feast under the stars. After your meal, smoke some shisha or sip on Bedouin tea while watching the sparkling sky.

The Heavenly Cathedral.
Given its grand name, you might suspect that this church has an ornate and beautiful interior, and you would be correct. Sharm’s biggest and newest church is often voted one of the most beautiful churches in the world since its construction was completed in 2010. The interior frescos recreate famous biblical scenes and offer a place of quiet reflection in Sharm el Sheikh.

Scuba Diving.
Sharm el Sheikh is renowned as a haven for scuba divers due to the abundance of colourful life under the surf. The Ras Mohamed National Park is a hotspot for many divers due to its abundance of fish and hundreds of coloured coral species.

Submarine trip.
If scuba diving just isn’t your thing, you don’t have to miss out on underwater exploration. Seascape offers submarine tours that allow you to witness the vast array of life under the sea. While the boat itself isn’t actually a submarine, more like a glass bottomed boat, it is a relaxing way to spend a day that both kids and adults can enjoy.

Kitesurfing.
There is only one kite surfing school in Sharm to date, the Kite Junkies. Operating out of the north side of Sharm, the sports experience company offer courses for both complete beginners and advanced courses for those more experienced. Learn basic kite skills before hitting the water for a thrilling experience unlike any other water sport.
The best thing about Kite Junkies is their terrain, three square kilometres of flat water that offers perfect landscape for beginners and experts alike.
From learning to kitesurf to dining in the desert, Sharm el Sheikh is full of phenomenal activities to enjoy.

About Egypt:
As a land of Pharaohs, majestic structures, beautiful shorelines and breathtaking underwater vistas, the list of things to do in Egypt is endless. From the Great Pyramid of Giza, which is the only intact remainder of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, to spectacular Mount Sinai and the Biblical history it provides, there’s already plenty to consider before you’ve even made it to the coastline. With soft golden sands, crystal clear seas and even the shores that lap the famous River Nile, there’s plenty of relaxed activities to enjoy in this astounding country.

With its beautiful beaches and captivating culture, it’s no surprise that Egypt has fast become a favoured destination for many. For those that fancy kicking back in the sunshine, cocktail in hand, Sharm el Sheikh offers the perfect spot. Perhaps you’re looking to embrace your inner adventurer? Culture vultures shouldn’t miss a chance to delve deep into Egypt’s fascinating history. Visit the Egyptian Museum in Cairo for mummified remains of ancient kings, or head to Luxor to explore the famed Valley of the Kings and Temple of Karnak, the largest ancient religious site in the world. Whether your passion lies in sightseeing and exploring or you’d rather stick to the beach, Egypt holidays provide the ideal escape.

Action and adventure.
One of the top Egypt attractions has to be the phenomenal views found beneath its rolling waves. The Red Sea Riviera offers some of the best diving and snorkeling sites in the world, boasting beautiful, multi-coloured marine life and endless, vibrant corals. For fun and games on the water’s surface, consider wind surfing, water skiing, parasailing or relaxed boat trips.
There’s also plenty of things to do in Egypt without having to dip your toes in the water. Have fun sand-surfing, camping or quad-biking over the dunes in the Western Desert near Luxor, or just take it easy touring on a camel around the Giza Plateau.
To really get a feel for everyday Egyptian life, embark on a hiking adventure in the mountains and valleys of Sinai and enjoy at night with the local Bedouin tribes. Promising a night of fascination and insight, this is one of the most popular Egypt attractions.

Family fun.
Ideal for romantic getaways, Egypt has amazing natural treatments and spas that will leave visitors relaxed and in the mood for love. With local minerals taken straight from the Sinai sands and Red Sea, there’s a whole host of Egyptian treatments to try. Once you’re relaxed, enjoy some sightseeing around the capital city of Cairo and complete your day with a sunset cruise along the River Nile.
Families, too, will love the range of things to do in Egypt. Take the children to explore the beauty of Montazah Gardens in Alexandria or, if you’d prefer panoramic views of Cairo, enjoy a visit to Al-Azhar Park. For a fun-filled day that’s action-packed, visit the Crazy Water Aqua Park in Giza or the Aqua Blue Water Park in Sharm El Sheikh.

Culture Explore.
Egypt’s cultural attractions include the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo, which displays ancient artifacts including mummified animals and beautiful jewellery. The Papyrus Museum in the city’s centre is perfect for learning more about its past, while the Solar Boat Museum provides insight into how boats were buried by tombstones to help pharaohs travel into the afterlife.
In Alexandria, you simply must visit the Catacombs of Kom el-Shouqafa, which show how a wealthy family buried over 300 hundred members of its family underground – a truly fascinating day out for all!
If you’re in Aswan and you love a little shopping, the Aswan Souk is a vibrant market place that sells African and Egyptian goods that are perfect for gifts. It also offers the perfect change to show off those haggling skills you’ve been working so hard on.
