 Guide to Tamariu
Tamariu got its name from the tamarix trees that grow everywhere. Very much still feeling like a traditional fishing village, Tamariu is a picturesque quintessential Spanish seaside resort and perfect for families, groups or romantic lovers looking for a quite and typical Spanish resort. Comprising of mainly Spanish houses, holiday villas with beach side bars and restaurants, you will experience a true feeling of pure relaxation.
Tamariu is one of the few tourist resorts where you wont find English bars with all day breakfasts or high-rise hotels just a blend of greens, blues and sandy shades with pretty white buildings.
The bay in Tamariu has several small sandy coves with enchanting beaches, and often with good privacy. The beach is Blue Flag certified and well sheltered for families with its gentle lapping waters. The beach at Tamariu has been quoted one of the best beaches on the Costa Brava.
Though in the middle of August the whole place buzzes with the Festival of Tamariu which is all about singing and crazy foam parties. Not to be missed!
