About Trevose Head:
Trevose Head is a headland on the north coast of Cornwall. It is situated three miles south of Padstow, between Constantine Bay and Booby’s Bay. Trevose Head is one of the most scenic stretches of coastline in Cornwall, with dramatic cliffs and sweeping views out to sea.
The headland is owned by the National Trust and forms part of the Trevose Head Heritage Coast. This area is of particular interest to geologists due to its exposed rocks, which contain fossils from the Carboniferous period. This area of the coast is also a haven for wildlife, with a variety of seabirds and marine mammals, such as seals and dolphins, often seen in the waters around Trevose Head.
Trevose Head is also known for its iconic lighthouse. The lighthouse was built in 1847 and is now a Grade II listed building. It stands at the highest point of the headland and is still used by ships to navigate the treacherous waters around Cornwall.
The area around Trevose Head is also popular with walkers and visitors. A coastal path runs along the cliffs of the headland and offers stunning views out to sea. The area is also popular with surfers, as the waves here are ideal for surfing.
Trevose Head is a stunning area of Cornwall and is well worth a visit. Whether you’re a walker, a surfer or just looking for a picturesque location to enjoy some peace and quiet, Trevose Head has something to offer everyone.
Verity Cottage at Trevose Head Lighthouse is Trinity House owned and a delightful 2 bedroom cottage with spectacular views over the sea and the sandy beaches of Harlyn and Constantine Bays four miles away.
