Technically a hostel type accommodation, Mobay Kotch is an unusual detached Georgian property in the center of downtown Montego Bay. Built in the mid 1700's by a wealthy trader, the property is now listed as a Jamaican national heritage site and can be found on many tourist guides as a site to see in Montego Bay. It has since been converted to a hostel and one of the most popular in Jamaica.

In such a central position, the Kotch is just minutes away from the beach and food and will give you a true Jamaican experience. The local owners live on property and give their guests the opportunity to experience and see the Jamaica that they know and love. Or you can visit the hustle and bustle of on Mobay centre and its fabulous beaches.

The accommodation at Mobay Kotch has a choice of a spacious mixed dorm or private rooms sleeping 2, 3 or 4 people. The mixed dorm sleeps up to 6, and offers linen and ceiling fans. Towels are available for a small charge. The bathroom facilities are located on the same floor. Great for groups or sharing. The private rooms offer as above with choice of 2, 3 or 4 persons. There is also a common lounge area for guests.

Negril is 31 miles away. While Sangster International Airport is just a couple of kilometers from Mobay Kotch. We understand the owners provide an airport service for just $10.

If you wish to experience the real friendly laid back Jamaica amongst great local people in a basic but better than normal quality of affordable hostel accommodation, then Mobay Kotch should be on your list.
On the less positive side, do ensure you take anti mosquito stuff with you and being so central, there will be some background noise. But heck, that's small compared to the location and experience and, over 300 excellent reviews from guests cannot be wrong.
