History:
The YS estate dates back to the 17th century. There are two theories as to how the estate got its name, one is that the estates initially 2 owners were named John Yates and Colonel Richard Scott, by combining the initials of their surnames they came up with the name "YS Estate". Another theory is that the name originates from the Gaelic word "wyess", meaning "winding".
