History:
The YS estate dates back to the 17th century. There are 2 theories regarding how the estate got its name, one is that the estates first two owners were called John Yates and Colonel Richard Scott, by integrating the initials of their surnames they developed the name "YS Estate". Another theory is that the name stems from the Gaelic word "wyess", implying "winding".

The YS Water Falls lies 50 miles East of Negril and 50 Miles south of Montego Bay Jamaica on the YS estate in the parish of St. Ann.
