"Good however dated.
Stayed in a ground floor apartment or condo. Extremely roomy and pretty tidy. Good sized private garden. Usually a great resort but lodging & swimming pool location is dated. Feels like it is badly in need of refurbishing. Reception is only open from 9.30 am which is quite bothersome when inspecting in/out early. At over EUR400/night for household of 4, I will most likely look in other places when going to QDL next time."

" A week in Portugal's Beverly Hills.
" With a football training school for my boys booked last-minute, I required to build the remainder of the holiday around it. What I hadn't understood is that Quinta do Lago, where the camp was based, makes up among the corners of the Algarve's super-affluent Golden Triangle.
This is apparent when searching for lodging, the rates of which are eye-watering in high season. I went for Encosta do Lago. Although not cheap, they had an affordable two-bedroom apartment or condo which looked nice. Unusually, the specified cancellation fee was over double what I was paying. This recommended someone forgot to change it in line with the reduced price, so on the face of it I got a pretty good offer.
On the transfer from Faro airport, the limitless estates you pass are an outrageous showcase of wealth, with premises that appear like they've been manicured with nail scissors. As we raced down opportunities named after Formula 1 motorists, our musings about Beverly Hills and Hotel California made our motorist smile (though I'm sure he 'd heard all of it prior to).
If such an environment sounds a bit sterilized, have faith, because Quinta do Lago likewise boasts a wonderful nature reserve, with exceptional biking routes and bird watching. In thirty wonderful minutes from Encosta do Lago, you've cycled right up to completion of Faro airport's runway, with the more genuine Faro Island (not a genuine island, but still remote-feeling) quickly obtainable. You can go surfing there (Surf School Faro is recommended). Or, as I did, send my kids surfing while I relaxed at the nearby Cais 73 on their roof balcony with a glass of vinho verde. Nice.
Back in Quinta do Lago, the suggestions is to hire a cars and truck, especially as the closest grocery store to Encosta do Lago is a ten-minute car ride away. To conserve a few euros, we employed bikes, which made our preliminary supermarket check outs somewhat precarious. However, after a while, I felt rather superior to those other tourists, caught in their air-conned cocoons.
Although quite late at night, our arrival at Encosta do Lago was uncomplicated. The security personnel was ready with an envelope containing our key, leisure passes and welcome pack. He required to his caddy and assisted our driver to our apartment.
Which was, to say the least, like 'wow'.
You enter into a hall that's almost a room in itself, off which originate the main spaces.
Among these is the cooking area, fitted with all significant appliances, in addition to a pill coffee machine and toaster. The only thing missing was a corkscrew. This is a deal-breaker in Portugal, as very few of their red wines are screw-top. Nevertheless, 10 minutes after I mentioned this omission to the concierge, one was provided. (Another welcome delivery is fresh bread and cakes, which Housekeeping come by in a wicker basket every morning other than Sunday.).
Roam into the lounge, and you simply wish to unwind. When it gets too hot on the terrace (more about that in a mo'), the lounge is constantly ideal. Both Sky television and a/c are piped-in, so switch them on, and chill.
Both bed rooms are master-sized, sporting sufficient closet space and safes. However the intended master bedroom leads to a larger en-suite restroom, which uses you the extra option of bathing and Jacuzzi, along with bathing.
Like the lounge, this primary bedroom also boasts access to the apartment's veranda, an area which is worthy of a special mention. It twists around the entire rear aspect of the house, with part of the terrace in shade and part in sun, giving you a choice of sunbathing choices.
Further praise has to go to the outstanding concierge service. So helpful, friendly and mindful. For instance, they proactively made calls to the browse school and bike hire business on my behalf, to make sure there were no misconceptions.
Encosta is mainly a property complex, and best-suited to self-catering vacations. There is no town center or strip close by, and just a handful of restaurants within strolling distance. The Shack is okay, child-friendly and wonderfully located beside a water sports center-- it's a best turn out of the resort, then a five-minute walk.
Much of the resort residential or commercial properties have their own pools, and there is likewise a sizable communal one. When we were there this was pretty underused, so no problems getting sun loungers (utilize the blue towels from your apartment). Together with the pool is a gym which we didn't utilize and the resort's own dining establishment, Tucano's. We consumed there on our first night as it was our only late-night choice, but subsequently opted to use it for aperitifs and sun-downers just. Nothing particularly incorrect with it, however too pricey for my taste, and was extremely quiet.
We really enjoyed our stay at Encosta do Lago. Everything was ideal. I'm not going to pretend Quinta do Lago is everybody's cup of tea. Its excess advises me of the Joe Walsh song 'Malibu'. But look beyond, and you'll discover it's perfectly counterpointed by the natural, the wild and the genuine. Similar to the real Beverly Hills.".

" Beautiful location however poor quality assets.
The area and surroundings were stunning! Quite delighted in going for walks and the fresh warm bread brought to your space every early morning! The health club was spick-and-span and had excellent devices! Nevertheless, the tennis racket conditions were stunning and the quality of the bicycles. The tennis rackets were broken and breaking down. The bikes were not safe to ride. Remaining in such a lovely location and wish to enjoy activities outdoors, it was sad that the sporting items were not to standard!".

" Private swimming pool.
We go to Quinta do Lago regularly and this time decided to try Encosta do Lago resort with private pool as kids enjoy swimming all day long. The apartment or condo was spacious, however, it was looking quite dated and previous its best. There were some issues with our pool that could have been dealt with more adequate but overall it was all OK. There were likewise some other small concerns with housekeeping e.g. our welcome tray had some opened and half utilized jam jars on it! (We don't utilize jam, so we didn't really care about that but it clearly was a housekeeping oversight, and made us believe what else might have been missed out on). The fresh bread rolls in the morning were a good touch. General our stay was OK and the personnel was nice enough. However, I'm not hurrying back here, as personally I prefer the feel of some the other properties in Quinta do Lago.".

" Great place.
My spouse and I remained in a 2 bed very first floor apartment a few of the ground floor houses are reserved for pet owners.
Wonderful check in. fantastic contemporary fitted out apartment or condos presume relatively just recently reconditioned as plan I am guessing is at least 10 yes old ... however because of its age it's in a terrific location short 8 minute walk to the shack bar and dining establishment on the lake. Enjoy the mosquitoes at sunset!
Restrooms very great marble with Moulton brown toiletries very nice hotel feel touch.
Terrific pool area and bar didn't use restaurant however looked good.
Fresh bread delivery at 9 am each day stores supermarket a brief drive away.
Beach brief 7 minutes drive too far to stroll. Lovely windy beach aqua blue sea, gorgeous.
Fantastic self catering option hope to return.".
