About Ocho Rios.
Originally a port town, today Ocho Rios is a bustling hub of tourism with marinas, cruise ship harbor, hotel and resort lined beach and endless shops or places to eat. Sitting in the parish of St Ann, Ocho Rios, which in the original Spanish name for 'Eight Rivers', is surrounded by tropical rain forests, hills, rivers and waterfalls. You could spend weeks here and still no time to visit all the wonderful surrounding attractions.
You can not only explore the beautiful Saint Ann parish and all its wonders, but within easy striking distance to equally magical places like Negril and Montego Bay, or even visit Kingston for the day and taste some of the worlds best ice cream at Devon House. Or of course just enjoy the wonderful beach and resort / hotels facilities and explore the vibrantly busy Ocho Rios town. Local taxis are plenty and not expensive.
You will find many exclusive hotels, resorts, villas, apartments, B&B and guest houses in and around Ocho Rios, or as Jamaicans call it 'Ochi'. Check out our accommodation directories in the links below to find the best (and sometimes worse) places to stay in Ocho Rios.
As an independent tourist guide and directory for Jamaica, we have no favoritism in our directory. If there's something wrong about a place, we say it and we always invite our visitors to send reviews good or bad about their experience with accommodation in Ochi. Though in general, you will find a decent quality of accommodation in Ochi and there is a very wide choice of accommodation types from luxury villas or resorts costing $1000's to small hotels and guest houses under $80 per night and everything in between.
