Why booking site reviews cannot always be relied upon:
The Problem:
The problem with booking site reviews is that there are so many of them, sometimes dating back over several years with conflicting reviews creating confusion. Both Booking and Tripadvisor now do an AI review summary, though if you read a few, you soon realise how its very much tilted towards being favourable towards the property. After all, they don’t want to upset the property owner whose paying a considerable commission to be listed on their website. Additionally, their review summary may be based upon several years of reviews, but things change and what may have been a great hotel is alas no longer, or visa versa. Also remember, that just because a place has thousands of reviews its often no better than one that has only a few. Its what the reviews have been like recently that’s important.
How our review system works:
Using our AI analysis system, we look at a properties reviews performance over just the past twelve months, then cross check that against the past six months of reviews. The data is then analysed and summarised into short good, bad and improvement points and what to consider if booking. Producing a very accurate and short summary review that sums everything up in a short text. Unlike a booking agents site, we have no financial incentive to favour any property, so can speak the truth, whether its Good or Bad. Context changes everything so be informed before making decisions.
Additionally, our review team in Portugal randomly visits some resorts and hotels, updating our review and adding new content or images.
