Some of our luxury all-inclusive holidays in Zakynthos Greece. From just £400 for 7 nights including flights!!
Exploring Zakynthos. The third largest of the Ionian Islands, Zakynthos is roughly 27km in length and has a population of around 36,000, a third of whom live in the island's capital, Zakynthos Town.
Known locally as 'The Flower Of The East', Zakynthos has impressive pine and olive tree-covered mountains inland, with many secluded beaches and crystal-blue waters at its shores. The best sandy beaches are to be found to the east and south of the island, and near the resorts of Kalamaki and Laganas lie sea turtle nesting grounds that are carefully monitored to prevent any disruption to hatching in late summer.
Zakynthos has a colourful history dating back to the 6th century BC with many invader / occupiers up to the British in the nineteenth century. Zakynthos officially became part of Greece in 1864.
The moderate climate, warm seas, vibrant greenery and luxurious beach resorts make Zante a very popular Greek holiday destination. |
