West India Quay is a waterfront area located in the London Docklands, in the east of London, England. It is located on the north bank of the River Thames, about 2 miles east of the city center. The area is named after the West India Docks, which were a group of docks that were used to import goods such as sugar, tobacco, and rum from the West Indies. The docks were built in the early 19th century and were an important part of London's trade and industry. West India Quay is now a popular destination for tourists, with a number of attractions such as the Museum of London Docklands and the West India Quay DLR station located in the area. The waterfront at West India Quay has been regenerated in recent years and is now home to a mix of residential, commercial, and leisure developments.
