South Korea Travel Guide.
South Korea is a country located in East Asia that shares a border with North Korea and the Yellow Sea. It is home to the world’s 15th largest economy and the 11th most populous nation. Its capital, Seoul, is one of the most populous cities on the planet and is home to a number of iconic landmarks.
South Korea has a long and fascinating history. South Korea is well known for its modern technology and electronics. It is home to major global companies such as Samsung, LG, and Hyundai, whose products are used around the world. In addition to technology, South Korea is also renowned for its vibrant culture, which includes K-pop music, traditional foods, and a unique language.
South Korea is also a popular tourist destination. It is home to many of the world’s most beautiful landscapes, including Jeju Island and Seoraksan National Park. Visitors can explore ancient temples, experience traditional festivals, and visit the bustling cities of Seoul and Busan.

Gangnam Style, K-Pop, uber-trendy locals, proximity to Hong Kong and Tokyo, and some seriously good food are just a few of the things which have placed Korea, and its capital city, Seoul firmly on the map. Those who make the journey are rewarded with a perfect travel combo of ancient history, modern culture, architecture, beaches and all the Korean fried chicken they can eat.
Undiscovered and somewhat off-the-map, but still vibrantly modern with its finger right on the pulse, Korea is a huge melting pot of East Asian culture waiting to be explored.

South Korea's travel highlights.
Seoul.
South Korea's capital boasts an incredible mix of ancient and modern, with beautiful centuries-old palaces neighbouring snazzy skyscrapers. Gyeongbokgung Palace is a must, as is Changdeokgung Palace and Gardens. Head to Gangnam to experience for yourself Seoul's trendiest district and check out Gwangjang Market for some delicious local delicacies. And before leaving the city, be sure to sample the crazy nightlife and karaoke bars!

Busan.
South Korea's second city, Busan has a more traditional and rugged atmosphere than Seoul despite its skyscrapers. Pojangmacha street food vendors offer tasty bites late into the night and Gamcheon's colourful neighbourhood boasts vibrant murals and pretty winding streets. Nearby Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is picture perfect with its dramatic cliff location over the sea, definitely worth the visit!

Gyeongju.
Once the ancient capital of the whole peninsula, Gyeongju boasts more temples, pagodas and ruins that anywhere else in the country. Not to be missed is the Bulguska Temple, one of the most important Buddhist sites in the country, along with Seokguram Grotto, both dating back to the 8th century. Gyeongju Gyochon Traditional Village also offers an interesting insight into the Korea of times gone by.

Jeju Do.
The country's biggest island, Jeju Do is a favourite getaway amongst Koreans thanks to its beaches, striking coastline and beautiful countryside. If outdoor activities are your thing, be sure to hike up Hallasan, South Korea's highest mountain. Or just kick back and relax between the island's white sands and the warm waters of the East China Sea.

Travelling to South Korea.
Incheon International Airport near the country's capital Seoul is the most likely entry point for visitors to South Korea. There are direct flights available from London to Seoul with Korean Air and many other airlines offering routes with a transit. What's more, there are plenty of Student/Youth flight options available too! Once in South Korea it's fairly easy to get around. The South Korea Rail Pass is a great choice, and there are also a good selection of domestic flights available as well as ferries out to the country's islands.

Getting Around South Korea.
Lucky for us visitors, South Korea offers a great Rail Pass, allowing us to get around the country with relative ease. Alternatively, there are some awesome adventure tours and packages allowing us to see the best the country has to offer.

When to Visit South Korea.
South Korea experiences extremes in terms of its climate. The winter months see freezing temperatures and great ski conditions - South Korea even hosted the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. Spring sees a rise in temperatures and beautiful blossom across the country, perfect for the snap-happy amongst you. From June to September the heat is on, with high humidity and heavy rain in July in particular. Autumn however is a great time to visit with the natural areas of South Korea ablaze with colour.

Economy of South Korea:South Korea is one of the world’s most successful economies. It has achieved remarkable economic success in a relatively short period of time and is now considered one of the most advanced economies in the world.South Korea’s economy is heavily export-driven. The country exports a wide range of goods, from electronics to automobiles, and it is one of the world’s largest exporters of technology and machinery. South Korea is also a major producer of semiconductors and other technology products. Additionally, the country has a strong service sector, with tourism and financial services being important contributors to the economy.

South Korea has a highly educated population and a well-developed infrastructure. The country has a well-developed transportation system, including high-speed rail links, as well as a modern telecommunications network. South Korea’s economy has also benefited from the government’s commitment to research and development, which has helped the country become a leader in technology and innovation.South Korea also boasts a strong manufacturing sector.
