What to expect in Lisbon with accommodation. Many of the viewer rated budget 3* or less places are like Lisbon itself in areas, old and in need of some touching up. Some are downright shabby but amongst these more budget friendly accommodations, there are a few gems and some more modern (but more expensive) hotels. Unless your on a tight budget, in Lisbon 4 or 5 star is recommended if you want good food, service and amenities.
3* Star Accommodation. We have just over 90 3* viewer rated establishments worth considering. If visitors have collectively given them only a 3 star rating, expect nothing too exciting food wise and accommodation that’s a little basic, with limited amenities with mixed service. But budget friendly.
4* Star Accommodation. There are a few really nice and luxurious ones amongst the 120+ that users have rated at 4* .but equally a few well below par. In general, where users have given a 4*, the place even if old have some very special qualities worthy of 4*. Food and choice is normally spot on. Rooms and amenities generally good to excellent.
5* in Lisbon can be quite exclusive with several quite 'ritzy' amongst over 45, user rated 5* places reviewed. However there are a few where expectations don’t match the 5* rating or price tag. Considering the higher cost, it is advisable to thoroughly research the hotels review summary to ensure its going to meet your expectations.
Like any capital city, accommodation in Lisbon can be quite pricey and many who come to Portugal on holiday spend at least a day or two exploring the city. Especially from holiday hotspots like the Algarve with its high speed rail line direct to Lisbon. Whether on a budget or not, there is plenty of accommodation choice in Lisbon. Just make sure you read our review before booking.
