Our 10 cents worth?
The problem for many tourists to Cuba is its 'tired' hotels. This is Cuba not NY. The Pesquero is admittedly 'tired', but its grandeur, beaches and wonderful staff offsets all that. Its still one of the best hotel resorts to stay at in Cuba and provides more luxury than most - providing your not expecting a western 5 star experience.

“8th time and booked again for October”
Lovely hotel, lovely staff, Beautiful location and fab food and some of them that came with us for the first time have already said they want to go back next year
“Third trip and better than ever!!”
I visited this hotel for the third time with my husband on March 28/16-April 4/16. I need to start off by saying we left the hotel feeling like we were leaving our second home.
“Excellent 2 week Christmas break”
Arrived to be treated to cocktails, check in was quick given 2 cards and a umbrella we thought strange. Golf cart took us to our room right near the beach very large and spacious room we were very happy. Fridge full of drinks.
“Great resort”
Second time at this resort. Would come back again. Great beach, good food, friendly staff. The food is great as it has a shallow section for kids to play in. Lots of restaurants to choose from. A lot of activities for adults and kids. Great for families.
“Fantastic experience”
More suited for the beach holiday maker rather then the tourist as you are off the beaten track and car hire is not recommended due to the road states. That said, the hotel rooms are laid out in blocks. The main bar and coffee bar very popular...

“The good, the bad and the health warning!!!!”
Stayed in the two weeks over Easter, whilst this is Cuba and you have to make allowances for this, it is not the first time to Cuba and nor was it the first time to this hotel. Some of the things we encountered were disappointing, simply because most would have needed little or no money to put right.
Go with the expectation that this is more like a 3 start hotel and you won't so disappointed as we was.
Does not live up to British expectations. Food was extremely poor and always cold. Is so close to being 1 of the best resorts I have stayed in but it has so many bad points about it.
“Disappointing!”
Arrived in the dark. Reception like a cattle market. No organisation, no drink, no welcome! Poor check in procedures. Booked superior room which should have had fast check in - no! Given a map and our room was circled and we were sent on our way. 10 hour flight plus an hour on a bus we then proceeded to pull our suitcases around the site in the dark and rain. Gardens around rooms are unkempt, long grass, dirty paths, plates, cups and glasses left and not collected very often. Rooms very shabby with flaking paint, broken boards, mouldy marks. Generally very tired and not very clean. I know this is Cuba but we have stayed in Varaderro and there is no comparison. I would not recommend to anyone. Food is monotonous, queues, same old things, no themes.
“In need of an upgrade”
Feel disappointed to have to. I have just returned from this destination and I feel the standard was really quite poor. The rooms are tired, but also the cleanliness is of poor standard with previous persons pubic hair present on the bathroom floor. The food is very basic with repetitive meals and poorly reheated meals throughout the hotel, staff are not trained in using separate utensils for raw and cooked meats.
