    Our 10 cents worth?
OK, so we say it again - Cuba is NOT of the same standards you may expect for 5* in Mexico or Bahamas. Its Cuba! But the Paradisus is a wonderful place with a mile long 'private' beach and over 3000 reviewers give it maximum rating for quality of service and amenities. And despite all the difficulties Cuba has faced for decades, they do a wonderful job - we recommend the Paradisus.

5 Star Ratings

“Enjoyed a week of R&R at a beautiful resort” - We had lunch twice at the beach restaurant (good food & service) and it was very convenient since we spent most of our time at the beach. We also had lunch at the pool restaurant - good food and had the additional pleasure of having thin crust pizza available

“Royal Service - 5 stars - perfect for honeymoons and romantic holidays” - The service was excellent and the private beach and service there will stay in my memory forever. I would go back in a heart beat. We found the locals very friendly...

“A lovely relaxing week” - Other than that a wonderful hotel, the Royal beach area is a lovely relaxing private beach where you can unwind with a stunning ocean view and soft golden sand.

“Simply perfection” - very good, the surroundings are breathtaking from the salt water pool to the private beach. The prices I would say are reasonable and service once again first class.

“Great stay at Paradisus” - Excellent at the Royal Service. Very helpful and friendly staff. Appreciated the private beach. Things to improve would be to add screens in the louvers in the bathroom to prevent bugs, frogs and geckos from entering. Had to ask for promised beach bag. But overall, very good stay.

"enjoyable holiday" - Had a very enjoyable holiday at the Paradisus Rio de Oro. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make sure you have a great holiday. The food was of a high standard. The bedrooms are a little tried. The beach and sea is beautiful. The snorkeling was brilliant. The Spa was of a high standard.

“OVERPRICED and disappointing!” - have stayed in multiple all-inclusives (Mexico, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, etc.) Cuba is just not worth the money anymore.

“5 star ? not on the same planet” - Firstly I must commend the staff at the hotel who were, with a small number of exceptions, attentive and friendly. However, I cannot in my wildest dreams understand how this hotel has a 5 star rating, yes it 'ticks all the boxes' in terms of stated facilities it's the implementation, maintenance and attention to detail that's poor - So if you want an overcrowded hotel, 1970's entertainment, bland food of questionable quality, poorly maintained with no attention to detail this is the place for you.
