Situated in central Port Antonio up a residential road with nice lush gardens, the Ocean Crest is a privately owned and operated property. It is well located for exploring Port Antonio or the local hills. Its slight elevation gives it really great views out over the town and East Harbour Bay.
The rooms at Ocean Crest Guest House are what you would expect from a residential property in the area. They are basic but functional with a bright decor. The rooms also have a private bathroom with a shower. The rooms also have a TV, but only local channels.
Ideal for couples and adventurers. Not suitable for pets.
With the historic Port Antonio town literally minutes down the road and trails up the historic Tichfield Hill, it would suit many travelers.
Summary.
There are some very bad reviews pre 2015, though since then the predominance have all been good to excellent. So we would advise dismissing the pre 2015 ones.
The basic accommodation this little guesthouse has to offer is more than compensated for by the owner who people refer to as sweet and helpful. The Tichfield area has a water problem where many times its just a trickle from the shower. Though owners can overcome this problem with the installation of a plastic water tank which provides water and pressure when needed. We assume the owner will pick up on that main negative complaint from guests and invest in a water tub.
And of course the location, so close to town.
If your not too fussed about luxury and more concerned with a happy environment close to town, then Ocean Crest is worth considering. |
